January 2009 - Two popular dancers from the American television series, "Dancing with the Stars" have become engaged to be married. Mr Maksim Chmerkovskiy proposed to Ms Karina Smirnoff on New Year's Eve 2008 right before midnight. The engagement comes six months after 30-year-old Smirnoff split up with former 'Dancing with the Stars' contestant and dance partner Mario Lopez. Mr Chmerkovskiy was 28 years old at the time of the engagement.

Ms Perry recently explained that she sent Russell Brand telepathic, subliminal messages in order to achieve her engagement to him.
