November 2008 - Nascar driver Carl Edwards has become a winner in love as well as the winner of a large number of Nascar races. He and his childhood friend, Dr Kate Downey have announced their engagement. Edwards and Downey have known each other since their high school days. Mr Edwards is said to be so excited over his upcoming wedding,
when he is off the racetrack he will tell anyone who will listen about how wonderful Ms Downey is and how excited he is over the news of their engagement. There are some in Nascar circles who believe there is a lot of inequity on the racetrack during the 2008 season, consider that just three drivers have won 22 of the 34 races in the season so far. Winless on the track to date in this season are: Jeff Gordon, Kevin Harvick and Matt Kenseth. The three winning drivers include Mr Edwards, Kyle Busch and Jimmie Johnson. Add Dr Kate Downey to the winner's circle this year too!

November 2008 - American television actors Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt announce they became married in early November by secretly eloping to a resort in Cabo San Lucas in Mexico. At the altar, the groom called his newlywed "the light in my life. Ms Montag's family were not present and did
not know in advance of the nuptials. The elopement was such a big secret that only Us Magazine cameras were allowed to attend the ceremony. Stunt? No stunt? Stunt? No stunt? Love? Real love.

December 2008 - Florida Governor Charlie Crist and Halloween Costume Princess Carole Rome married this month in Florida. She is the CEO of Franco American Novelty Company, a leading Halloween costume manufacturer in the United States. The Franco company is a 100 year old family owned company.Governor Crist is a well known national figure, who locally, has a reputation for being able to pinch a dime. Good for them!

February 2012: American actress, Scarlet Johannson, divorced actor Ryan Reynolds during 2011. Yet, in an interview in late 2011, Ms Johansson stated she has no regrets about the failed marriage. The couple was together for two years. She said, "It was the best thing I ever did. I'm a big believer in instinct. Getting married was the right thing to do because it was natural."

"It grew out of romance and love and a desire to have a future with somebody, and I was very fortunate that I married somebody who turned out to be the person I thought he would be," Ms Johansson added.
