Fall 2008 - Victoria Rowell, an American actress who is alumni of the daytime soap drama, 'The Young and the Restless', has become engaged to marry artist and Atlanta resident, Radcliffe Bailey. Rowell, who released the 'New York Times' bestselling book 'The Women Who Raised Me,' said she is anticipating spending more time in the ATL. Bailey is a modern medium artist who works by patterning together vintage photographs, objects he collects, and painted words and maps in a multi-layered narrative which explores the both history of African Americans, as well as Bailey's own personal history and influences. The couple plans to split their time between Atlanta and Los Angeles.

Fall 2008 - Former Spice Girl Mel C is engaged to marry her longtime boyfriend, Mr Thomas Starr. They have been together since 2002 and he is the father of her first child born in 2009. Lovers of big weddings will have to wait a bit longer for their favorite Spice Girl, this time Mel C, to take a walk up the aisle in marriage in 2009. Posh Spice, Victoria Beckham is planning the wedding for her. Beckham asked her fashion designer friend Roberto Cavalli to design the wedding gown. Mel's other former bandmates – Emma Bunton, Mel B and Geri Halliwell – are also keen to get involved with the wedding.

July 2010 -- Will it last through the summer? -- American pop music star Katy Perry and British comedian Russell Brand became engaged in late 2009, so that is not news. Ms Perry recently explained that she sent Russell Brand telepathic, subliminal messages in order to achieve her engagement to him. The 'California Gurls' singer now tells the world that she constantly communicated to Brand telepathically placing the idea of asking him to ask the marriage question in his mind.

"Every night we looked into each other's eyes and I was thinking, 'Please ask me, please ask me'," she announced. "So all the time we'd been sending each other subliminal messages!," said Perry.
